Richard Saunders, Ph.D., Retires

Richard Saunders, Ph.D., University of Kansas Senior Scientist with affiliations involving KU's Parsons Research Center, the Research and Training Center on Independent Living, the Weight Management Center, and the Kansas Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Center, is surrounded by friends, family, and colleagues in celebration of his research career as he retires, Friday, January 4 in Lawrence.

Dr. Saunders conducted research with his wife Muriel Saunders in the areas of intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities, including adaptive switch technology, supported routines, health promotion, and weight loss interventions.

Dave Lindeman, Director, LSI/Parsons, said, "The gathering to honor Dick recognized many of his accomplishments and contributions to our field. Remembrances also recalled a few more humorous events. We will miss Dick's contributions."
